New book on the abuse of market power

A new book, co-edited by Professor Rupprecht Podszun, is now available: It is called "Abusive Practices in Competition Law" (Edward Elgar Publishing). Rupprecht edited it with his Italian colleague Fabiana Di Porto. It assembles 19 contributions by renowned antitrust experts from all over the world on issues relating to the abuse of market power. Editorial work for the publication of the volume was supported by student assistants Johannes Huppertz and Philipp Offergeld. In terms of content, all articles deal with the options that antitrust authorities and courts have to prohibit certain types of unilateral behaviour. One focus is on alternatives to market dominance as a threshold, such as "superior bargaining power". Rupprecht wrote a chapter on market definition. Lorenz Marx contributed with a statistical analysis of the European Commission's decisions. Lorenz was the first doctoral student of Rupprecht Podszun and his first research associate at the University of Bayreuth. The book was published in the Ascola series by Edward Elgar. Ascola is the Academic Society for Competition Law. Further information is available here:
