Artificial Intelligence in Medicine - New lecture series at HHU

A new lecture series on AI in medicine will start at the HHU Faculty of Law from October 16, 2023. There is a diverse range of AI models and AI-supported processes in medicine and health care research with regard to documentation, diagnostics treatment support and many more applications, that raise exciting legal questions. This lecture examines central legal issues and incorporates current machine learning techniques as well as practical applications.

 Subjects:

  • Applications of artificial intelligence in medicine, medical technology and in pharmaceutical and biogenetic research
  • Practical introduction to machine learning techniques
  • Medical device law and AI software medical devices; European AI regulation; product liability law
  • Data protection law and current developments in data usage regulation
  • Artificial intelligence in psychiatry and psychology
  • AI and reinforcement learning for the prevention and treatment of sepsis
  • SMART Hospital concepts, digital health and research data protection
  • Artificial intelligence in laboratory diagnostics
  • Artificial intelligence in medical imaging
  • Medical contract law/tort law
  • Medical professional law
  • Digital health applications
