From the Lecture Hall to the Theatre: "Das Tribunal" at the Schauspielhaus

At the end of the semester, the students from the lecture "Law and Sustainability" swapped the lecture hall for the theater: On a Friday evening in January, they watched "Das Tribunal" at the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. The play by Dawn King, staged by Adrian Figueroa primarily with young actors and actresses, addresses the climate crisis. In a fictional future court setting, people have to justify their inadequate CO2 emissions. In the process, basic questions of law, legal procedure and justice are raised with great tension. The group from Heinrich Heine University was gripped.

Highlight: In a follow-up discussion led by dramaturge Katharina Rösch, the HHU students met the actors.

Prof. Dr. Rupprecht Podszun, who had organized the trip to the theatre, and two of his students had already been invited by the cast during the rehearsal phase to discuss law and justice. "Das Tribunal" will run several more times at the Schauspielhaus. Info:
